Miss Connecticut USA "Community Impact" Girl Boss Award Winner
Sophia was recognized during the Miss Connecticut USA 2021 pageant weekend for her leadership and philanthropic initiatives. Throughout her year serving as Miss Wallingford USA, Sophia led and participated in various events all while excelling in her professional career from earning a promotion at her job at ESPN to receiving multiple law school acceptance letters after studying for the LSAT and applying to schools.
Wallingford Mayoral Proclamation Recipient
The Mayor and Town of Wallingford recently recognized Sophia for her philanthropic dedication and commitment to the town and state of Connecticut with an official Mayoral Proclamation.
ESPN Virtual Reading for the Boys and Girls Club of Bristol
Sophia led a volunteer opportunity for the ESPN Next team to host virtual readings for the Boys and Girls Club of Bristol. Each volunteer read their favorite sports-themed book. The purpose of this initiative was to not only serve younger sports fans but also to motivate children to develop a life-long love for reading.

Sophia was nominated to be one of the Spotlight Features for the Fabulous Working Females blog. Sophia shared her professional journey and career aspirations as well as her philanthropic and community initiatives. Night to Shine
Sophia is involved with the Night To Shine annual event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is a prom-night experience dedicated to honor and serve those with disabilities on the Friday before Valentine's Day. Each attendee is crowned as Prom King and Prom Queen. With the purpose of spreading love to those with special needs, Sophia is honored to take part in such an inclusive and impactful event.
Wallingford Christmas Car Parade
In December 2020, Sophia joined Wallingford Mayor, William Dickinson, Jr., the Public Celebration Committee, the Parks and Recreation Department and Wallingford Center Inc. to host a first-ever "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" Car Parade. Over 900 cars drove past Town Hall to meet Santa and deliver their letters to him. Sophia enjoyed living vicariously through the children as they experienced "Holiday Magic." Despite being in the midst of a pandemic, Sophia was happy to be part of a festive and cheerful experience.
ESPN Next Holiday Food Drive
In November 2020, Sophia collaborated with ESPN Corporate Citizenship and ESPN Next Leadership to lead a virtual and in-person Thanksgiving/Holiday Drive. Virtually, the company exceeded over 1,200 donations which benefited Feeding America food pantries near the Bristol, Charlotte, and Los Angeles offices. Sophia delivered donations made in-person to the Bristol Salvation Army. Sophia wanted to create an opportunity for her ESPN family to come together in an impactful way.
Wallingford's "Halloween Happenings 2020"
Sophia, Miss Wallingford USA, made a special guest appearance in Wallingford's first Halloween Car Parade. Over 200 cars drove through a local high school parking lot that volunteers filled with Halloween decorations. Sophia greeted guests and gave candy to children as their cars drove past her. Sophia enjoyed collaborating with the Public Celebrations Committee and local teachers to make this event possible.
Run Across America 5K
Sophia participated in Run Across America's 5k to benefit nonprofit organizations such as Feeding America. Nationally, the 5k raised over
$137, 292 for Feeding America. Sophia was proud to participate in an event that raised money to help Food Banks in her community and throughout the country while encouraging others to get outside and exercise.
